The Fishing Bot was a bot created by Brandon in 2012 for Multiplayer Piano. In the test/fishing room, users could catch and eat fish. Eating a fish has a chance of changing user colors. Before the server switched to MultiplayerPiano.net, this was the only way users could change their colors. When users caught a fish, if it was one of the 56 fish with an image, the image would show in a notification along with some text.

Features

Eating

The action of eating has multiple purposes. When eating a fish, the fish will be consumed and removed from the inventory and a random chance to change the user's color is given.

Locations

Locations, while partially useless, serve to house items. The only two locations are "outside" and "sleep". A third location, "inside", was added by Hri7566 after the bot was ported to MPP.net. In order to do most things, the user must be in the "outside" location.

Sand

Sand spawns every six seconds at outside. Sand cannot be yeeted, and the only method of disposal is to eat the sand. Sand should only be eaten up to 10 times a day, but the part of the bot that checks such limit is supposedly broken.

Kekklefruit

Kekklefruit is a boost mechanic used to fish faster. When eaten, kekklefruit decreases the amount of time it takes for the user to catch a fish. An unlimited amount of kekklefruit can be eaten, yielding a large boost.

Kekklefruit Tree

The kekklefruit tree is a tree bearing kekklefruit in the location "outside". The kekklefruit tree grows fruit periodically. The amount of fruit can be checked with /tree. Fruit can be picked off the tree with /pick.

Getting Kekklefruit

There are two ways to get fruit off of the tree:

  • Checking the amount of fruit on the tree with /tree and picking it with /pick
  • Yeeting an item and knocking a fruit out
  • Every so often, a fruit falls off the tree and makes a noise, causing a chat message to appear

If there are no fruit on the tree, /pick will yield a random message informing the user that the tree is deprived of fruit. Yeeting does not check or decrease the amount of fruit in the tree.
